2024 RULES OF PLAY

PITCHING ARC: 6’ MIN - 12’ MAX - PLATE AND MAT STRIKE – UMP CALLS ILLEGAL PITCH IN AIR

No Floating Rubber, foot MUST have contact with rubber on release. No Fakes/Jukes

TEAMS SUPPLY OWN BALLS! 

~ Women's Ball: 11” .44 /400 OR .52/300 (or less lb compression) 

~ Men's Ball: 12” .52/300 (or less lb compression) 

~ Women have their choice to hit 11" or 12" ball in Coed Play. 

~ Pitchers responsibility to check ball before pitched in game.

HITTING: 2 STRIKES = OUT …..FOULED 1st STRIKE OK……3 BALLS = WALK

COED – GUY WALKS = Guy gets 2nd and Girl gets option ONLY with 2 outs.

BASE RUNNING:  NO COURTESY STEP  - ONE (1) COURTESY RUNNER ALLOWED PER INNING/SEX (LAST OUT for Mens, LAST OUT of SAME SEX for Co-ed)…..if courtesy runner’s position comes to plate for an AB and runner is still on base, hitting position will be recorded as an out.

HOME RUN LIMITS:  (5) HOME RUNS/TEAM/GAME  **HIT AND SIT**  HOME RUNS AFTER LIMIT ARE DEAD BALL OUT

COED – GIRL HR’s DO COUNT TOWARDS TOTAL

RUN RULES: 20 AFTER 3 INNINGS  15 AFTER 4 INNINGS   10 AFTER 5 INNINGS

RUN RULE IS IN EFFECT DURING ALL MONEY GAMES!

GAME TIMES: Games will start up to 10 minutes early, or immediatley following completion of previous game if behind. 

TIME LIMIT = Clock starts at coin flip. No New Inning will start after 55 minutes with exception of Final 4 Elimination Games. In these Final 4 elimination games (Mens: Game #34, #35, #36 and If) (Coed: Game #26, #27, #28 and If) No New Inning will start after 75 minutes.

IF PLAYERS ARE PLAYING BOTH MENS AND COED, WE WILL NOT WAIT ON PLAYERS TO FINISH GAME AND IF YOU FALL BELOW 8 PLAYERS YOU WILL TAKE A LOSS BY FORFEIT  – 

TOURNY DIRECTOR RESERVES RIGHT TO MOVE GAME TIMES AND FIELD LOCATIONS

EXTRA INNINGS: IF GAME GOES PAST TIME LIMIT and GAMES ARE BEHIND, Umpires reserve the right to SWITCH GAME TO 1 PITCH PER  HITTER FORMAT (WALK/STRIKEOUT/FOULOUT/HIT) AT TOP OF INNING

RAIN OPTIONS: IF RAIN, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE GAME FORMAT TO ONE PITCH PER HITTER AND IF NECESSARY SHORTER INNING GAMES AND TIME LIMITS TO GET CAUGHT BACK UP – IN THE EVENT OF TOURNAMENT CANCELLATION….Tournament Director reserves the right to split prize money to the best of his ability.

TEAM RULES:          TEAMS MUST START GAME WITH 8 PLAYERS MINIMUM, MAY HIT UP TO 12 MAX

A PLAYER IS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY FOR ONLY 1 TEAM FOR THE WEEKEND Per Tournament (Men’s/Coed)

COED – ON THE FIELD AND LINEUP MUST HAVE EQUAL AMOUNT OF GIRLS FOR EACH GUY. LINEUP MUST BE STAGGERED. MUST HAVE MIXED BATTERY (ie. MALE Pitcher and FEMALE Catcher OR FEMALE Pitcher and MALE Catcher)

COED – If you cross the commit line between 3rd and home plate, you must continue home and force is live.

COED – BECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE A COED 150’ LINE, NO FEMALE BATTER CAN BE THROWN OUT AT 1ST BASE FROM AN OUTFIELD POSITION - If defense is playing a 5 man infield, it must be CLEAR to the umpire. Umpire reserves the right to rule whether or not defense was in a 5 man or an outfielder was cheating in.

EQUIPMENT: ASA OR USSSA APPROVED BATS ONLY- Bat has to be currently approved in either USA or USSSA play and have current Utrip and/or USA stamps. If batter uses an illegal bat, opposing team must appeal before next batter's 1st pitch has been thrown. If appeal holds true, batter who used illegal bat is OUT, any runner advancement from that At Bat will be nullified and TEAM will receive an official warning. Next infraction, team will be eliminated from tournament.
